How This Website Handles Information
Greater Austin Mission Society uses personal information only to serve the purpose for which it was given, operate this website, administer gifts, and protect the systems entrusted to us.
Information You Give Us
When you use the Contact or Work With Us form, we collect the information you choose to provide. The forms ask for your name, email address, topic, and message. You may also provide a church, ministry, or organization; your role; and where in Greater Austin you serve.
Form submissions are stored in the site’s WordPress Forms inbox and sent by email to the Society’s contact address so a member of the team can respond. Contacting the Society does not add you to an email list.
Giving Information
The Give page includes a form provided by Givebutter. Givebutter and its payment providers handle the information entered into that form, including payment details. The Society may receive donor contact information and transaction details needed to acknowledge, administer, and reconcile a gift.
Because the form is embedded from Givebutter, that provider may also receive technical information when the form loads. Gifts made through a linked Reliant page are handled by Reliant under its own policies and are separate from gifts made to Greater Austin Mission Society through Givebutter.
Information Collected to Operate the Site
WP Engine hosts this site. WordPress and the active Jetpack Forms and Blocks services help publish the site and process form submissions. These services and ordinary server logs may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device type, requested page, referring page, and the date and time of a request.
We use this information to deliver and secure the site, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and maintain the services people ask us to provide.
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site and to measure whether its communications are serving their intended purpose. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, interactions, approximate location, device and browser information, referring pages, and online identifiers. Google and its service providers process this information under their own terms and privacy practices.
Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement may use cookies or similar technologies to recognize a browser, preserve attribution across missionatx.org and connected giving pages, and distinguish visits. The Society has disabled personalized advertising in its connected Google Ads accounts. The Society uses aggregated reporting to improve the site, understand the use of public resources, and measure the effectiveness of its outreach and Google Ad Grant campaigns.
Form submissions are not automatically routed to Mailchimp, Airtable, or Zapier. The Society will revise this policy before activating a materially different information-routing practice.
How We Use and Share Information
We use information to respond to messages, administer gifts, maintain records, operate and secure the site, and complete another action a person clearly requested.
The Society does not sell personal information. We share information only with people and service providers that need it to perform those functions, or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the Society or another person, or investigate misuse.
Retention
Contact responses in the WordPress Forms inbox are kept for no more than twelve months unless a shorter period is appropriate. An email or other record may be kept longer when reasonably needed to respond, maintain required organizational or financial records, prevent abuse, or meet a legal obligation.
Givebutter, Reliant, WP Engine, WordPress.com, Jetpack, and other providers may retain information according to their own policies and the services the Society uses.
Other Society Properties and External Links
The Society’s Writing publication is hosted by Substack at notes.missionatx.org. The Society’s public research tools are at data.missionatx.org. Those properties and other sites linked here have their own services and privacy practices. The destination’s practices apply when you leave this site.
Your Choices
You may write to info@missionatx.org to ask what personal information the Society holds about you, request a correction, or ask that it be deleted. The Society may keep information when reasonably necessary for the purposes described above.
You may control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking a provider’s cookies or scripts may affect the Contact form, the Work With Us form, the embedded giving form, or another part of the site.
Security and Children
The Society uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards for the information it holds. No website, email system, or online service can guarantee complete security.
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under thirteen. The Society does not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen through this site.
Changes to This Policy
The Society may revise this policy as its website, forms, giving tools, or information practices change. The date below shows when it was most recently revised.
